 | Map: Scott Twp, Bourbon Co., KS, 1878 A portion of Scott Township in Bourbon Co., KS, showing many of the Seaver farms. Hover the mouse over a name and click to go to those individual pages.
For reference, the eastern edge of Ft Scott is to the left, and old Highway 54 is the road running through the middle of Sections 29 - 25. The extreme right boundary is the Kansas-Missouri border.
The house marked Mrs P Eddleman in Section 27 is the former schoolhouse that W.A. Seaver taught at. It was in the SE corner of where Lath Branch Cemetery is now. After the new schoolhouse (School No.54) was built in 1871, the old building was sold to the Eddlemans for something like $60.
The P. Riley farm in Section 26 was bought by the Hamiltons; later Roy & Mettie (Hamilton) Seaver lived there. |
